Despite the crisis, sector of buildings popular remains heated.

Caixa  Econômica Federal financed more than 300 000 units in 2008. Sales of popular buildings grew, while the luxurious fell.

In the midst of global financial crisis that began in September and led to a wave of recession in several countries, in Brazil, the sector of cheap buildings is still very heated in a universe of other companies with the foot in brake.

The Secovi, Syndication of Housing, closes the year 2008 in commemoration, the Caixa Econômica Federal financed more than 300 thousand buildings.

Classes C and D are the main responsible for heating in sales of more popular houses. According to the Secovi, until 2006 the greater part of the entries was of luxurious buildings, three and four rooms. Today, this type of sales has fallen by 20%, while apartments cheaper, for classes C and D, two and three dormitories, are selling 20% more.

“This new market is very interesting. It is there that will sustain the growth of the country and of the property market” says Celso Petrucci, executive-director of Secovi.
