Tourism of Natal
Natal has on tourism its principal income source, getting to reunite 25% of its population now economically active as labor working on that activity.
Its main tourist attractions are the beaches of Ponta Negra, the Via Costeira ones (where they concentrate the largest hotels installed at the capital), Areia Preta, Praia dos Artistas, Praia do Meio, Praia do Forte and Praia da Redinha. The historical monuments are the Reis Magos Fortress, Alberto Maranhão Theater, The Culture Palace (the State Government´s old headquarters), Felipe Camarão Palace (the Municipal Government current headquarters), Solar Bela Vista, Igreja do Rosário dos Pretos, Igreja do Galo, Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Apresentação Church, Order of The Lawyers From Brazil Building, Historical and Geographical Institute, Academia Norte-Rio-Grandense de Letras, Grande Hotel, Colégio Atheneu Norte-Rio-Grandense, Commercial Association Building, old Law University, Arts Captaincy (the old Portos Captaincy), Mãe Luiza Lighthouse, Junta Comercial do Rio Grande do Norte, Metropolitan Station of Urban Trains, Rosário Rock and the Bom Jesus das Dores Church.
